This Knowing Body - Summer Meditation Weekend

This retreat is suitable for those who have a regular meditation practice and who regularly attend retreats, a centre or a group within the context of the Triratna Buddhist Community. You will also need to be familiar with, and happy to participate in, Triratna Buddhist devotional practice and ritual (puja), be comfortable with extended periods of sitting meditation and the possibility on some retreats of periods spent in silence.

“...give back your heart to itself, to the stranger who has loved you all your life, whom you ignored for another, who knows you by heart...” – DEREK WALCOTT

Fully inhabiting our felt experience through the body can be a path to awakening. For many of us, the well-rehearsed mental stories that we tell ourselves hinder a fuller experience of living.  The simple act of sitting still and bringing our attention to our felt experience in the moment can be transformative. Perhaps that which we strive for has been with us all along. A weekend of meditative practice and ritual which will put us in touch with ourselves, both how we are right now and what longs to manifest through us.

Mandarava was ordained in 1997 and is currently training in ‘Somatic Experiencing’. She is also an artist, puppet maker and story teller, who has a particular gift for creating meaningful and engaging rituals. Sukhasiddhi has been practising yoga, meditation, art and healing since 1995. She holds space for people to relax and soften in a way that allows a deeper experience of self and world to emerge.
