To attend this retreat you will need to have been regularly meditating for at least two years and regularly attend retreats, a centre or a group within the context of the Triratna Buddhist Community. You must also be comfortable with extended periods of sitting meditation, Buddhist devotional practice and spending most of the retreat in silence.
This two-week-long meditation retreat will focus on the ‘heart’ as the door to love and beauty. Through meditation we will explore how restoring the heart to its traditional central place in awareness and imagination allows us to cultivate a sense of care for ourselves and the world. We will see how a meditation practice based in care helps to heal the split between ourselves and the world. Mandarava will lead ritual each evening to connect imaginatively to the heart and give expression to its longing.
Paramananda has been teaching meditation and leading retreats for over 30 years and is author of three books on meditation: Change Your Mind, A Deeper Beauty and The Body.
Mandarava was ordained in 1997 and is a storyteller and puppet maker known for inspiring creativity in others and creating an atmosphere of magical depth.
