Bird Song in the Bones - Meditation Long Weekend

This retreat is suitable for those who have a regular meditation practice and who regularly attend retreats, a centre or a group within the context of the Triratna Buddhist Community. You will also need to be familiar with, and happy to participate in, Triratna Buddhist devotional practice and ritual (puja), be comfortable with extended periods of sitting meditation and the possibility on some retreats of periods spent in silence.

“may my heart always be open to little, birds who are the secrets of living, whatever they sing is better than to know..” – e.e. cummings

How can we open to the world so that we feel supported and inspired to take our full place in it? Through silence and meditation, ritual and practising as a community, we will explore how to open the heart. This will be an imaginative journey to connect both inward into our own depths and outward into the world we live in. The retreat will be held mostly in silence and will include guided meditation instruction and ritual.

Please note: Before attending this retreat you will need to have been regularly meditating for at least two years. This retreat runs from Friday pm to Monday pm.

Paramananda has been teaching meditation and leading retreats around the world for over 30 years and is also a poet and author of four books on meditation: Change Your Mind, A Deeper Beauty, The Body and The Myth of Meditation.

Nagasiddhi also leads and supports retreats at Rivendell and is an artist. He is known for his ability to communicate the Dharma in a direct and lively way making it relevant to modern life.
