2. You will receive a joining email from us close to the start of each event (ideally the day before), with a Zoom link that will work for the whole of that particular retreat online event.
3. Zoom is a simple online communications platform that is very easy to use. If you have not used it before, we suggest that you download this programme and install for free before your retreat is due to take place. You can find the programme at this link: https://zoom.us/download. If you have any questions about using Zoom, please contact us at bookings@rivendellretreatcentre.com
Retreat Details:
What is the connection between how we work with our own minds and how we respond to others and the world around us?
This retreat offers the opportunity to delve deeply into an authentic and radically honest exploration of the principle and practice of ahimsa, non-violence. Ahimsa as a fully embodied principle regards all experiences, people and things as having value and integrity in and of themselves. It is beyond objectification and utilitarianism, and towards interconnectedness and a deep respect for the inherent value of everything.
How might a non-violent approach to what we encounter in our meditation practice support us in unravelling what drives us to feel limited and contracted, discovering what supports opening and relaxation, and more deeply embodying non-violence in our interactions with others and the world? How can it support us in our work towards greater social and environmental justice?
This exploration will be supported by teacher input and led practices, small group enquiry into what you are noticing in your practice, bodywork and mindful movement, the neuroscience of how we’re wired and how change happens, meditation reviews, and large group enquiry and discussion.
For those with at least six months meditation experience interested in deepening their practice and links with the wider context of social and environmental issues in our world.
